Credit and Risk
The Risk Office’s Mission is: To protect the Bank’s capital by establishing a strong risk control environment. We must understand risk at all times and work to ensure that our risk capital is deployed wisely for our shareholders. The Risk Office, together with the Head Group Credit, act as an independent "check and balance" function, but must do so in a spirit of transparency and partnership as we work towards common goals with our colleagues throughout Sarasin Group.
The Mandate of Credit & Risk Management is to manage overall credit risk in the Private Banking Division, consistent with the Bank’s credit appetite, policies, and business objectives by being responsible for:
- developing and administering local credit policies and procedures;
- working in partnership with the PB business divisions to facilitate and approve transactions;
- approving appropriate credit limits;
- monitoring client exposures and performances; and
- managing exposures, including impaired assets.
